Michèle Lamy: Ride the Light

Ride the Light
(skating for peace)
Hala Wardé
On the ground, a territory of light drawn by skateboarders in motion, gliding over curved or oblique geometries, with lights embedded in their clothing, shoes, and skateboards (Michèle Lamy /Rick Owens universe).
Two self-lit Glade units frame this terrain at two opposite angles, urban furniture that extends the curves of the ground on their exterior surfaces while the interior is clad in camel skins.
The terrain is surrounded by dimly lit scaffolding, graphic structures evoking calligraphy and capable of becoming graffiti supports.
Above, two open eyes, curved mirrors oriented toward the city, reflecting these choreographies of light in the distance, offering on their concave surface the interactive images of this "skate-light" universe, and on their convex side the chiaroscuro of a star in the desert.
